Northwestern University Model United Nations became a reality in 2004 when a group of Northwestern students decided to bring a quality Model UN conference to Evanston. Since then, NUMUN has become the Midwest's premier Model UN conference for secondary schools. Our conference provides a unique committee experience that capitalizes on the resources of Northwestern University and the talent and passion of our collegiate staff.
A hallmark of NUMUN is our delegate-focused attitude; we aim to set the stage for each delegate to make the most of his or her conference experience. NUMUN currently accommodates around 400 students, and a wide range of committees ensures that every delegate gets an opportunity to speak and participate. The conference caters to students of all experience levels and interests. From the larger General Assembly to a cabinet simulation with less than fifteen delegates, NUMUN committees offer variety and flexibility within an intimate, interactive conference setting.
The conference is held on the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Illinois in the Norris University Center. Delegates attending the conference enjoy the truly exceptional views of Lake Michigan from their committee rooms in Norris while tackling international issues at one of America's finest collegiate institutions.
