Updates on Schedules and Hotels

Adam Docksey | January 17th, 2012

Hello Advisers,

Please note the following updates pertaining to our conference weekend:

1) Due to room availabiltiy in the Norris University Center, Sunday committee session will now be scheduled to begin at 10:30am and conclude at 12:30pm. Closing ceremonies will therefore begin at 1:00pm and conclude at 2:00pm. We encourage everyone to schedule their travel plans accordingly!

2) It has come to my attention that hotels are starting to sell out in Evanston (not just from our block, but entirely). Please contact delservices@numun.org for a list of non-sponsporing hotels within walking distance of the conference and let us know if you run into any issues.

Best,

Adam

Adam Docksey | January 11th, 2012

Registered Schools:

Please note that you will not receive your country/committee assignments for NUMUN IX until our USG-Finance (finance@numun.org) has received your deposit, which is due at the time of registration but accepted until 20 January, 2012. If you need to make separate arrangements, please contact us as soon as possible.

Schools that have registered and paid their deposits should expect their country/committee assignments within the next ten days.

Waitlist Notice

Adam Docksey | November 10th, 2011

Greetings all,

Please note that NUMUN IX has reached its full capacity. All schools that register subsequently will be placed on a waitlist and notified immediately if a position becomes available to them. Please direct questions to "Registration" under the contact tab if you have any questions regarding the waitlist.

Additionally, I would like to remind all participating schools to book their hotel rooms as soon as possible. Although we try our best to reserve as many rooms as possible in our blocks, we are unable to bear financial responsibility for rooms and therefore cannot guarantee a space in either hotel for all schools. For this reason, please book your rooms immediately!

We look forward to seeing you in April,

Adam Docksey

NUMUN IX Waitlist Policy

Adam Docksey | October 21st, 2011

Dear Advisers,

The past 36 hours have been very exciting! At this time, we are at 93% capacity for our 2012 conference. Once our capacity is reached, all subsequent schools will be placed on a waitlist. If you are given waitlist status, we will be in touch with you to give you details and updates regarding your participation in NUMUN as spots become available.

We thank you all for your interest in our conference and hope to accommodate as many as possible!

Sincerely,

Adam Docksey

Important Registration Reminders!

Adam Docksey | October 18th, 2011

Greetings!

As we near October 20th, the opening day of registration for NUMUN IX, I would like to set out a few reminders for both our returning schools and NUMUN first-timers.

1) Hotel space goes quickly in Evanston. I highly recommend you book your hotel rooms at the same time as you register for the conference. Be sure to mention you are with NUMUN to secure our discounted rate. See "Hotel Information" under the Registation tab for more information.

2) An invoice for the conference will be provided to you once you register. 1/2 of the total invoice is due at the time of registration, but you do have the option of paying the entire invoice right away. The balance of the invoice must be paid by the weekend of the conference.

3) All advisers traveling to NUMUN must pay the $40 adviser fee. Any advisers on your team that are not registered will not be issued credentials to enter the University Center or other facilities during the weekend of April 20-22, 2012.

4) Each country delegation will fill approximately 7 delegate positions (i.e., requesting Australia will likely get your team into 7 committees). Please keep this in mind when you register.

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions!

Best,

Adam Docksey

Registration Information

Adam Docksey | September 6th, 2011

Happy September!

We hope you all had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend -- perhaps you spent some of that time off planning your yearly Model UN calendar? If you did and were wondering when registration would open for NUMUN IX, we'd be happy to let you know!

Registration for NUMUN IX will officially open on Thursday, October 20th, at 12:01am. The timeline for registration is available under the "Registration" tab and is fairly similar to last year's. Even better news: NUMUN fees have remained stable for the third year in a row! We're excited to hold costs even as we expand to a second venue and hope you will consider joining us this April.

If you have any questions about the registration process, please don't hesitate to contact Annemarie McDonald at registration@numun.org.

Kind Regards,

Adam Docksey

Welcome to NUMUN IX!

Adam Docksey | August 14th, 2011

Dear Advisers, Delegates, and Staff,

On behalf of the Secretariat of NUMUN IX, we welcome you to this year's conference! Even though Northwestern is still a month away from its 2011-2012 academic year, we're deep into country matrices, committee selection and hotel-booking in order to ensure that NUMUN IX is best conference it can possibly be!

Many of you will notice our website is undergoing some dramatic changes. We've been working diligently with a new webdesigner to make our web presence as user-friendly and functional as possible. That being said, we appreciate your patience as we get all of the kinks worked out of numun.org. More complete information, including our yearly Registration Brochure, will become available in September.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at secgen@numun.org. I look forward to working with you!

Best,

Adam Docksey
